Fredericton Police arrest two; seize weapons and drugs

Fredericton (NB) - On June 16, 2023, members of the Fredericton Police Force’s Drugs and Street Crimes unit, along with the Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU), arrested a 48-year-old male and a 36-year-old female. After a vehicle stop on Fredericton’s north side, the pair were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime and possession of a prohibited weapon. Upon arrest officers located and seized a quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine, drug paraphernalia, Canadian currency, and a prohibited weapon in the vehicle.

The following charges are pending: 

Section 5(2) CDSA - Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
Section 5(2) CDSA - Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine 
Section 355 CC - Proceeds of Crime ($1530 in Canadian Currency)
Section 92(2) CC - Possession of a prohibited weapon (knuckles)
 
The two were released with a court date of August 25, 2023 to answer to the above charges.
