On the evening of December 31, 2024, Fredericton Police Force (FPF) patrol division initiated a traffic stop in response to a call about a suspected impaired driver. The vehicle fled from police and was later located, abandoned, during patrols. RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) was called for assistance to locate the driver who had fled on foot. Although the suspect driver was not located, the PDS found a bookbag containing various items, including a significant quantity of drugs.
The following items were seized:
-
425 grams of Methamphetamine
- 21.6 grams of Fentanyl
- 203 ICE Pills
- 57 Hydromorphone pills
- $730.00 in Canadian Currency
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $23,000.
The FPF would like to thank the public for their continued vigilance in reporting suspicious activity. The initial call about a suspected impaired driver led to the discovery of a large quantity of drugs, preventing them from reaching our streets. We encourage all residents to remain alert and report any suspicious behavior to help keep our community safe.
