Wolastoqey Flag to be raised at 12 noon on September 30

The City of Fredericton reminds the public of the following hours of operation for Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30, 2021.

  • City Hall and other administrative offices will be closed.
  • Transit will continue to operate based on its normal schedule.
  • Regular garbage and recycling collection will occur.
  • Recreation facilities will remain open.

To mark the day, the Wolastoqey flag will be permanently raised in front of Fredericton City Hall at 12 noon. The public is invited to attend.

City Hall will be lit in orange from until October 1. Orange crosswalks with white feathers have been installed on Maliseet Drive and in front of City Hall.

The City of Fredericton encourages the public to observe Truth and Reconciliation Day. Consider wearing orange, attending an event, supporting Indigenous arts, learning more about the history and culture of Indigenous Peoples, and being considerate of Indigenous communities who are reflecting on their history.
