The City of Fredericton maintains a variety of sports fields, from ball diamonds to grass fields and high-performance artificial turf, giving residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy and excel at their favourite team sports.
The City of Fredericton may close ball diamonds and grass fields if rain affects field conditions. Artificial turf fields, however, remain open regardless of rain. In the event of lightning, groups are advised to use their own discretion.
On weekdays, field closures are announced by 3pm, while on weekends and holidays, they are announced at 8am and 12pm. Stay informed by signing up for Community Alerts or checking the Recreation & Culture Facebook Page. If no alert is posted by the deadline, fields will remain open.
